All-Ukrainian Competition of the State Labour Service of Ukraine: DTEK Oil&Gas is the Best in Labour Safety

The competition is held annually by the State Labour Service of Ukraine to raise the level of industrial safety culture, promote issues of industrial health and safety, improvement of labour conditions and introduction of modern methods of industrial health and safety management. A prerequisite for participation in the competition is the absence of accidents or occupational diseases over the past year.

The participants were evaluated according to the following criteria: presence and effective functioning of an industrial health and safety management system, including compliance with international standards; availability of industrial health and safety services, offices, industrial health and safety boards and their organization; taking measures to improve labour conditions; investment in industrial health and safety; timely provision of workers with high-quality working clothes, safety shoes, other personal protective equipment; timely training and testing of employees in occupational health and safety, and many other factors.

Dmytro Meleshenko, Head of the Health, Safety and Environment Department of DTEK Oil&Gas, noted, “Every enterprise is obliged to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of employees, creating a system that protects people’s health and lives, and prevents an unscrupulous employer from saving on safety standards and ignoring requirements. Production safety is a major economic and social task.”
