DTEK Oil&Gas applies new seismic survey technologies

DTEK Oil&Gas is improving own seismic survey technologies. In early 2024, the company equipped its seismic survey crew with the latest STRYDE wireless system. Over the year, four large-scale 3D seismic surveys with a total area of about 500 km² were completed. The total registered seismograms amounted to 42,000 units.

Thus, we've been the first in Ukraine who:

  • used sweep signals with a frequency from 3 Hz, which significantly improves the resolution of the - data obtained;
  • increased the length of the swept signal up to 30 seconds, which allows for deeper seismic images;
  • achieved a record seismic density of more than 6.5 million traces/km².

“Using modern technologies and the application of the latest approaches, DTEK Oil&Gas has reached a new level of seismic exploration. From now on, we can obtain significantly higher-quality data at great depths and conduct fieldwork even in hard-to-reach areas – dense forests, swamps, mountains, and urban territories. The results of the data processing will allow DTEK Oil&Gas to increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon exploration, discover new hydrocarbon deposits, and enhance the efficiency of developing existing fields” said Yevgeniy Solodkyi, Head of the Exploration Department of DTEK Oil&Gas.
