DTEK Oil&Gas will continue investing in deep drilling and will build five new deep wells in 2020. These plans were reported by Oleksii Raptanov, Hydrocarbon Extraction and Processing Director, in his speech given during a conference held within the specialised conference ‘Oil. Gas. Service 2020'. ‘Last year, the company laid a solid foundation for increasing the scope of drilling: we reduced the construction period of wells with the depth over 5,500 m down to 3.5 months, and hired SK-3000 drilling rig, which is the most powerful rig in Ukraine, with the maximum drilling depth of 10 km. Also, we started a new drilling program at the Machukhske field with the most difficult geological conditions in the world. In 2020, we plan to build five new wells and start drilling at the depth exceeding 7 km in the foreseeable future’, — commended Oleksii Raptanov.

In his presentation he further has noted that a key factor in the growth of the scope of drilling and gas extraction is the introduction of innovative technologies.

‘DTEK Oil & Gas is the first Ukrainian gas extraction company that created its own Technology Centre for the systematic search, adaptation and implementation of modern technologies. In the past year, we reduced well drilling periods by 132 days in aggregate by applying innovative technologies. The company also has established the Expert Board that engages leading foreign experts and will promote the efficiency of production and business processes. Through all these efforts, DTEK Oil&Gas will reach new growth dynamics and increase the production up to 2 bln cubic meters by 2021, thus increasing its contribution to the energy independence of Ukraine’, — reported Oleksii Raptanov.
