DTEK Oil&Gas Held a Conference on the Technologies and Techniques of Natural Gas Collection, Treatment and Processing
More than a hundred people took part in the conference: representatives of gas-producing companies and equipment-manufacturing plants, design and educational institutions. The list included Ukrgasdobycha, Burisma, Geo-Alliance, Smart Energy, Propak, Galileo Technologies, QB Johnson Manufacturing, Euro Gas Systems, Solar Turbines, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). The conference was also attended by visitors from the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Romania and Kazakhstan.
The first panel was dedicated to the state-of-the-art technologies in the field of treatment and processing of hydrocarbons. The participants discussed such questions as determination of hydrate inhibitor efficiency, cogeneration, hydrocarbons treatment and processing simulation, selection of the optimal gas dehydration method, and virtual gas pipeline technologies (LNG).
The second panel was focused on the gas-compression equipment. The participants considered the modern remote monitoring systems for compression equipment, latest gas engines, generators and compression unit solutions.
“Modern technologies and equipment play a great role in increasing gas production and help improve the efficiency of fields’ development. This is why holding such scientific and technical conferences is so important for moving the industry forward. They let companies share experience and learn about the recent developments applied both in Ukraine and abroad. All this helps achieve a common objective: energy independence of our country,” said Olexiy Raptanov, Hydrocarbon Extraction and Processing Director at DTEK Oil&Gas.
Vladimir Onishchenko, rector of the Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk – which was the venue of the conference – emphasized, “A partnership between business, science and government is vital for increasing the gas production in Ukraine. Our university and DTEK Oil&Gas have been cooperating for a long time, and it pays off. With the support from DTEK Oil&Gas, the university has opened a modern laboratory, and our students do internships at the company’s facilities. This gives them an opportunity to obtain practical skills needed for work in the gas sector.”
