DTEK Oil&Gas develops cooperation with Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University

DTEK Oil&Gas arranged a visit of the rectorate of Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University to the company’s production facilities on 30 May. The University’s representatives were demonstrated the drilling operations at well no. 34 at the Semyrenkivske Field, inspected an active well fitted with telemetry and solar panels, and visited Olefirivka gas gathering facility. The members of the rector’s office highly appreciated technological efficiency, innovative properties, and environmental safety of the facilities operated by DTEK Oil&Gas.

Following the visit, DTEK Oil&Gas and the University’s rectorate discussed the results of their cooperation and partnership plans for the following years. Joint efforts will be aimed at arranging and holding training courses for DTEK specialists on the basis of Poltava National Technical University facilities, organising scientific and practical conferences for companies operating in the oil and gas industry, co-authoring and publishing articles and course books, and holding recruiting sessions for students.

On 31 May, Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Oil&Gas, met with the Poltava National Technical University students and shared his experience with them. He also gave advice on building a successful career and rising from an extraction operator to the top manager.

The rector of the Poltava National Technical University Volodymyr Onyshchenko underlined that the partnership between DTEK Oil&Gas and the university helps bring together education and the needs of business and give students an opportunity to receive job experience. Cooperation between the company and university in the field of research and development, which has already produced a number of technical solutions that improved the performance of DTEK’s gas production facilities, is also very important.

Igor Shchurov further said, “The development of the Ukrainian gas sector is possible only if modern technologies and innovative approaches are implemented. For this, we need highly skilled professionals capable of bringing new ideas and knowledge to the industry. By fostering cooperation with universities and academic institutions, DTEK Oil&Gas contributes to the successful future of the national gas extraction industry. In our turn, we receive valuable expertise that helps our company maintain its leader’s position in the industry.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Volodymyr Onyshchenko announced that Igor Shchurov was awarded a title of an honorary professor of Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University.
