We Develop a Partnership with the Poltava National Technical University Named after Yuri Kondratyuk

Vladimir Onishchenko, rector of the Poltava National Technical University, and Olexiy Raptanov, Hydrocarbons Extraction and Processing Director at DTEK Oil&Gas, discussed the prospects of further cooperation between the company and the university during the visit. Joint scientific work, the creation of scientific and technical documentation, students’ internship at DTEK Oil&Gas’ facilities, holding conferences, scientific and educational activities on the basis of the university’s laboratory of oil-and-gas technologies were among the key questions.

Olexiy Raptanov said, “Cooperation between business and industry-specific educational institutions is very important for the development of the gas production industry. This partnership helps bring education closer to the business’ needs, lets students obtain practical experience required for further employment. On the other hand, the university’s powerful scientific basis can promote the development of new innovative solutions for gas-producing companies.”

In summer 2017, 28 students of the leading Ukrainian universities educating specialists of the oil-and-gas industry did an internship at DTEK Oil&Gas’ facilities. Among them there were 18 students of the Poltava National Technical University. They did internships in oil-and-gas production, operation of oil-and-gas pipelines and storage facilities, oil-and-gas production equipment, thermal energy, environmental studies and record-keeping.

By the decree of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine dated October 19, 2017, Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Oil&Gas, and Olexiy Raptanov, Hydrocarbons Extraction and Processing Director at DTEK Oil&Gas, were appointed members of the Supervisory Board of the Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk.
