In 2021, DTEK’s oil and gas business implemented eight projects with an aggregate value of over UAH 7.7 million in the Velykosorochynska and Machukhivska communities within the scope of social partnership with these communities. The company performed major repairs to the water supply system of the medical ward in Velyki Sorochyntsi, purchased equipment for the Machukhy Primary Health Care Centre, bought a sewage cleaning truck, repaired roads, and implemented other important projects.

‘We have been cooperating with DTEK Oil&Gas since the moment when the company has started operating on the territory of our community. Being a socially responsible business, the company helps us develop by funding social projects, engaging local residents in the implementation of important initiatives, and running environmental campaigns. DTEK Oil&Gas is our trusted and reliable partner,’ commented Valerii Bilokin, Head of the Machukhivska community.

Additionally, in 2021, DTEK Oil& Gas more than doubled the funding the company provided to projects implemented within the framework of DTEK’s DIY Community grant program. The company extended financing of over UAH 1.8 million to the initiatives undertaken by local residents. Once DTEK had joined the Business without Barriers initiative launched by the First Lady of Ukraine, the program has focused on the development of barrier-free communities in a wider sense. In general, over 30 projects in five territorial communities have been implemented with the funding provided by the company.

‘DTEK's DIY Community grant program is an important instrument in the implementation of initiatives launched by local residents and their active involvement in the improvement of the living standards in the communities. In 2021, we noticed a steep rise in the interest in the program among active members of the community. This is why we plan to expand the program to new territories and increase its budget this year,’ informed Yurii Bereza, Director of the Communications Department at DTEK.

As reported earlier, in July 2021, DTEK Oil&Gas opened first-ever football class in Poltava Region on the basis of Velyki Sorochyntsi Children’s and Youth Sports School within the framework of Let's Play Shakhtar Social Project. Currently, almost 30 kids from various villages located on the territory of the community attend the class. The company finances all the equipment, football clothing, as well as football field maintenance expenses and trainer’s fees.
