The Flowrate of Machukhske Field’s Well is Doubled

DTEK Oil&Gas performed acid treatment of well No. 51 of the Machukhske Field in November 2017, which resulted in its flowrate increasing more than twice. Now it yields 150,000 cubic meters of natural gas a day.

Modelling, design project and works at the well were performed by Halliburton, one of the world’s largest service companies. The specialists of DTEK Oil&Gas were behind the arrangement of works and project management. The project involved the equipment and personnel of Region, a Ukrainian company. More than fifteen units of special-purpose machinery were used, including coil-tubing and nitrogen units, acid-resistant mixers, high productivity and working pressure pump units.

The acid treatment was performed in several stages. On the first stage, downhole jewelry and bottom-hole area of the reservoir were cleaned with the coil-tubing unit. Further works to increase the permeability of intervals of the natural fracture pattern’s development were performed with Pulsonix TFA equipment and technology patented by Halliburton. This allowed increasing the reservoir capacity several times, which is crucially important for successful implementation of the project’s main phase. Heavy matrix acid treatment of the producing interval was performed with a carbon-chelate system on the third stage.

Chemical agents and composition fittings of the best global manufacturers were used to implement Ukraine’s first selective acid treatment project of such a scale; they showed high efficiency under the conditions of excessive temperature and overpressure at ultra-deep-drilling sites in the USA, Mexico and the North Sea.

“Halliburton has a unique experience in the field of production intensification. Halliburton’s technologies allow to considerably increase wells’ productivity while complying with the standards of environmental protection, industrial safety and occupational health. Cooperation with such international contractors helps us successfully explore and increase the resource potential of DTEK Oil&Gas’ fields,” said Ivan Gafych, Exploration and Prospective Development Director at DTEK Oil&Gas.
