The II Kiev Conference Drilling, Intensification, Environment and Occupational Safety dealing with the modern drilling methods and increase of oil and gas production was held by Newfolk oil and gas consulting centre on November 7. As always, DTEK Oil&Gas was a partner to the conference. More than 250 experts took part in the conference, including representatives of the leading Ukrainian and international oil-and-gas and service companies as well as industry-specific educational institutions.

Ivan Gafych, Exploration and Prospective Development Director at DTEK Oil&Gas, was a speaker on the conference’s second panel dedicated to the development tactic of Ukraine’s oil service market. He elaborated on how improving the efficiency of exploration of active fields’ resource potential was one of the ways to increase hydrocarbon production.

“Now it is important not only to explore new license sites but also improve the efficiency of exploration and development on active oil-and-gas production sites. Science and modern technologies play a great role in this process. They are what ensured the growth of DTEK Oil&Gas’ reserves and high exploration rate. Adopting new integrated solutions in geologic exploration, drilling and arrangement of well bottoms and well production conditions allowed us to considerably improve gas flowrates. Thus, despite the challenging mining and geological conditions and depths of up to 6,000 m, some wells’ flowrates have reached more than 1 million cubic meters a day. Modern high-precision models are turning into a tool of managerial decision-making, allow optimizing drilling programs and boosting natural resource potential,” commented Ivan Gafych.
