DTEK Oil&Gas acted as a partner in the Third Ukrainian Gas Forum
As part of the discussion panel related to energy independence issues, Natalya Grebeniuk emphasised that Ukraine has considerable reserves of hydrocarbons, but the extraction percentage is much lower than in other countries. In order to boost gas production in Ukraine, it is necessary to create an incentive fiscal regime, deregulate the sector, hold auctions for new licence sites and develop the drilling and servicing market. It will help speed up gas production growth and meet the target set by the government of extracting 27 bcm by 2020.
As part of the block concerned with the creation of an innovative development model for Ukraine's gas extraction industry Ivan Gafych told about the role of innovative solutions in improving the efficiency of oil and gas field production. Modern technologies allow optimising drilling programmes and locating sites for new wells as well as identifying promising areas. DTEK Oil&Gas makes use of these technologies to study and develop its fields. One of them is the wide-azimuth 3D seismic survey, creation of 3D models for the fields and other types of surveys.
