DTEK Oil&Gas Completes Drilling of a New Deep Well

Oil and gas06 June 2018
DTEK Oil&Gas completed the drilling of well No. 25 at the Semerenkivske Field. The well is of a directional type with the drilled depth of 5,652 m and horizontal displacement of 700 m. It was designed and drilled in compliance with the requirements and standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). The well was commissioned with a high gas flow rate corresponding to the natural reservoir potential, which confirms the right choice of the engineering solutions, technologies for the well construction, and the quality exposing of the producing horizon.

Drilling was performed by a sumpless drilling method using the dewatering technology and sludge disposal with a special dryer that meets the international environmental standards.

Well No. 25 was the first well drilled by Belorusneft in Ukraine. The services were provided by a number of international and Ukrainian contractors, including Schlumberger, Smith Bits, Geosynthesis Engineering and others.

Igor Shchurov, DTEK Oil&Gas CEO, said, “Each DTEK Oil&Gas well is a complex project involving large international companies, modern equipment and innovative technologies. Well No. 25 is symbolic for us because it became the first of a pool of planned wells for which we engaged an international drilling operator. Due to the successful implementation of such projects we can increase the volumes of natural gas production every year.”
