Naftogazvydobuvannya scaled up gas production by 25% in 2016
In 2016, the production of gas condensate reached 56.1 thousand tonnes, which is 24% higher than 2015 indicator.
The main factor that contributed to the growth of gas and gas condensate production was the completion of drilling and commissioning of three wells – no. 71, 73, and 52 – at the Semyrenkivske Field, with the depth ranging from 5,700 to 5,770 meters. Four wells (no. 10, 70, 68, and 17) at the Semyrenkivske Field were overhauled. Furthermore, measures were taken to stimulate production at the existing well stock.
“Our team managed to set a new record, both in the history of the company and in the entire history of private gas extraction in Ukraine. This is a significant achievement that proves the excellent prospects the industry can have with a professional approach, sufficient investments, and modern technologies. However, such external factors as market trends, a regulatory framework, and investment environment, impede the development of gas extraction. To give new impulse to the state’s efforts and plans aimed at reaching gas independence by 2020, drastic actions have to be taken to establish stimulating fiscal treatment, deregulate the industry, and shape up clear and transparent rules for natural resources management,” stressed Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Oil&Gas.
