Naftogazvydobuvannya, a DTEK Oil&Gas company, successfully completed the drilling of three wells, no. 71, 73, and 52, at the Semyrenkivske Field, in June-August 2016. The total gas flow rate reaches 760 thousand cubic meters per day.

The drilling was complicated by mining and geological characteristics of the deposit: high formation pressure, temperature, and considerable depth. Well no. 71 has the depth of 5,770 meters, well no. 73 is 5,733 meters deep, and the depth of well no. 52 reached 5,700 meters. All the wells are directional, with reach in excess of 1,000 meters.

“This investment project was complex in terms of technologies and cost-intensive. We launched it last year, and today we received the result that can be deemed quite good from the point of modern gas extraction. It gives us confidence that by the end of 2016 we will reach the production target of 1.6 bcm of natural gas,” noted DTEK Oil&Gas CEO Igor Shchurov. “At the same time, by finishing the drilling of these wells, we fully completed our drilling program for this year, and due to this we expect that the extraction growth rate will slow down in 2017. A scenario of further development will depend on the regulatory and investment environment, which remains a key benchmark that we use to develop our annual business plan.”
