Oleksii Raptanov focused on the key economic achievements of the industry: for example, how extracting companies paid UAH 74.6 billion of taxes in 2017, which is almost 10% of the state budget revenues. For 2017, Naftogazvydobuvannya, a member of DTEK Oil&Gas, paid over UAH 5 billion of taxes and became one of the top three largest extracting companies in terms of tax deductions together with the state oil and gas companies Ukrgazvydobuvannya and Ukrnafta.

As Oleksii Raptanov noted, the fact that DTEK Oil&Gas pays great attention to the social development of the regions where it produces gas is also of great importance. “We strive to be a reliable partner and friend of local communities, delve into the problems that exist in the region and help to solve them. We repair hospitals, purchase modern medical equipment, renovate community centres, repair roads, construct public water supply systems and install and street lighting. We implemented 14 social projects in the Poltava Region that cost UAH 11 million in 2017 alone. In total, we have invested over UAH 35 million in the social partnership over the past five years. The most ambitious of these projects is the repair of the second floor of the children’s unit of the Shyshaky district hospital and purchase of medical equipment. Our company has been implementing the hospital renovation project for several years now, and in 2018 we plan to overhaul the first floor of the children’s unit and make a full-fledged infectious disease ward with boxes out of it,” he said.

Moreover, since the beginning of 2018, local communities began to receive even greater benefits from the activities of the oil and gas companies in their territory as the law on decentralization of payments took effect. Thus, for the first quarter of 2018, DTEK Oil&Gas’ rental payments to the budgets of all levels of the Poltava Region amounted to UAH 22.5 million. Districts and village councils plan to allocate these funds to energy efficiency projects, improvement of the quality of medical services and infrastructure.
