The Machukhska gas processing plant processes natural gas and gas condensate from the Machukhske field wells to be further transported to the Dykanka–Kremenchuh–Kryvyi Rih main gas pipeline. In 2017, DTEK Oil&Gas retrofitted the plant. The total investment amount is over UAH 100 mln. The retrofit project was conducted within the record time of 6 months.

Many advanced process solutions were used in the retrofitted Machukhska GPP. The Company constructed a new gas processing line using an efficient separation and heat exchange equipment and implemented an automated process control system based on Siemens new-generation equipment. DTEK Oil&Gas is the first company among Ukrainian oil and gas producers to build a gas metering station with an on-stream gas chromatograph and moisture analyser, which allows the company to comply with the requirements of the Gas Transmission System Code.

"It is very important for us to stop importing gas to Ukraine. We have to produce it here, in Ukraine. And this is possible," said Volodymyr Groysman, Ukraine's Prime Minister, at the press briefing.

In 2018, DTEK Oil&Gas will launch a new drilling programme in the Machukhske field. The programme is expected to discover productive reservoirs and enable commissioning of new high-flow-rate wells. That is why the plant's capacity was almost doubled: from 1.2 bcm to 2 bcm per day.

"When retrofitting the Machukhska plant, we used the latest technologies and advanced equipment, which are necessary for the development of the Ukrainian oil and gas industry," said Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Oil & Gas. "They allow us to efficiently develop the natural resource potential and scale up gas production, which is essential for the achievement of energy independence by Ukraine."
